ECONOMICAL OPERATION OF ZLD IN TEXTILES INDUSTRY

Why is there a need of ZLD in Textiles Industry? Equalization and Effluent cooling Equalization refers to homogeneous mixing of effluent in order to get consistent parameters of effluent. Effluent cooling refers to cooling of effluent using cooling towers in order to reduce the temperature of incoming effluent below 38 Deg Celsius. Biological Treatment Biological Treatment refers to removal of BOD and COD in wastewater biologically i.e. using bacteria in presence/absence of air. There are various type of biological treatment. There is minimum generation and less to negligible chemical consumption.
Membrane Purification Membrane Purification refers to removal of TDS (Dissolved Solids) using Membrane technology. We focus on maximum recovery using Membrane technology with minimum 93-97 % recovery to get maximum permeate of desired parameters to be reused in process. The technology focuses on maximum recovery with very less reject of < 5 percent. Multi-Effect Evaporator with Dryer In this, Final RO reject is feed to MEE for evaporation of concentrated reject. The efficiency of MEE depends on Feed parameters of RO Reject. If TDS of RO Reject is low i.e. recovery of membrane purification system is low; There will be high steam consumption resulting in inefficient ZLD. Salt dryers is used at MEE reject to get dried salts for total zero liquid discharge.
